Washington DC Epoxy and Metallic Epoxy Floor Coatings

These coatings provide an exciting and attractive range of possibilities for floors in garages, basements, bathrooms, kitchens, barns, lobbies and much more.

Correct installation of epoxy coatings is imperative. Depending on the manufacturer’s recommendation, we either use planetary grinders or shot blast to prepare the floor.

The floor is then cleaned several times using vacuums, microfiber pads and solvent. This is to ensure dust and other debris does not block the bond between the substrate and the coating.

We offer a very wide range of epoxy coatings, urethane and polyaspartic systems. The topcoats we use are UV stable, chemical, stain and impact resistant.

If you need assistance, we can help specify the perfect system for your location, based on the environment and conditions your surface is being exposed to.

Polished Concrete Contractors in DC

If no color or “design” is required, then this ultra-smooth finish is ideal for floors in basements, office spaces, lobbies, garages, absolutely any interior concrete. That said, color can be applied to the surface, if required.

Polished concrete is a process has multiple steps. The concrete floor is required to be mechanically ground, honed and then polished with bonded abrasives. These steps cut the concrete floor’s surface. Each subsequent “cut” further refines the surface in order to achieve a specified level of appearance.

A penetrant called densifier is applied, which hardens the concrete and creates a dust-proof surface.

After the required level of gloss is achieved, a stain resistant sealer is applied to penetrate the surface which is then burnished.

If the customer has decided to go with a color, dyes can be applied during the polishing process. Using stencils and colors, it is possible to add any pattern or design that suits the location.

Polished concrete is an extremely hardwearing and durable flooring solution, requiring very minimal maintenance.

Concrete Repairs

Over time, and with a lot of foot or vehicle traffic, concrete can become worn down and damaged, or stained. To rectify this, it can be resurfaced.

If the damage is extensive, then the floor may need releveling to prepare it for a high quality surface.

After repair, the choices for a final, attractive finish really open up.

You can add micro toppings to provide more grip, or for just aesthetic reasons, you can seal or stain the concrete, or install a stunning epoxy coating

It doesn’t matter whether the floor is in a residential, commercial, or even industrial setting. A living room or a poolside location, a walkway, driveway, garage, barn, bathroom, car showroom, airplane hangar… there is a solution to meet any and every situation.

Concrete floor leveling

Oftentimes it will be necessary to level a floor before we install any finish. This is to ensure the surface of the concrete is prepared correctly so that the chosen coating will bond perfectly.
This may be achieved by pouring self-leveling concrete over the existing floor, after ensuring the existing floor is sound and then primed.
If the preparation is not carried correctly, this can affect the life-span of the finish.
